Welcome to the School of Education and Humanities (SEH) where we train students in a variety of education and humanities disciplines to become the best professionals in the education sector. The school provides the tools students need to become a teacher committed to making a difference in the life of each student and the community. SLU is committed to training teachers who can determine the prospects of students and provide the tools and environment for students to develop into responsible citizens. 

The humanities specialties empower students with practical, technical, scientific, and creative solutions for the complex challenges of their immediate environment and the global world. It provides ethical values, historical and cultural perspectives, and the critical thinking skills that help students to be rich in wisdom and to serve the world with dignity and love.

We also address the pressing needs of teachers in the twentieth century, which is the need to incorporate IT and AI in the teaching and learning process. All subjects, contexts and phases of education require teachers to know how to make use of IT to support teaching and learning. The Diploma in Teaching with IT equips teachers with the necessary skills on how to be creative in using IT and AI resources in the classroom to achieve maximum effectiveness.

We train you to become a teacher who:

  • Uses classroom presentations or individual instruction to help students learn Plans, evaluates, and assigns lessons 

  • Prepares, administers, and grades tests 

  • Listens to oral presentations 

  • Maintains classroom discipline 

  • Observes and evaluates a student's performance and potential 

  • Grades papers, prepares report cards 

  • Meets with parents and school staff to discuss a student's academic progress or personal problems


The teacher education program includes introductory and preparation courses that help you to become a professional educator in the Nursery and Primary Sector or Secondary and High School.

  • High School graduates who have a passion for teaching or working in the education industry. 

  • Holders of a Teacher's Grade 1 Certificate who want to broaden their experience and increase their chances of employment. 

  • Individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to get the certification to become a secondary or high school teacher.

  • Teachers who want to learn how to use IT and AI to facilitate teaching and learning in the classroom. 

  • Private sector teachers who want to learn new skills, approaches and methods of teaching and making the classroom lively and unique. 

  • Individuals who have completed some college coursework and want to continue or earn a degree in education.
