STRATEGIC ACADEMIC PLAN

At St Lawrence University Institute, we seek to create a dynamic, collaborative, and intellectually vibrant environment which fosters student success and cherishes innovation and excellence. To achieve this, we have developed a Strategic Academic Plan around five key areas of success:

We promote student success through a commitment to students-centered learning, and participation in creative and innovative projects
 
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
We recognize that academic excellence is a necessity, and we need to attract and develop faculty, staff and students who can lead the innovation process at SLU. Through a rigorous and targeted review of academic programs, we are realigning programs to provide affordable education to students while promoting innovation. 
 
RESEARCH, CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION
We recognize that the evolving and constantly changing nature of knowledge makes it indispensable for our faculty to be actively engaged in research. We also highly encourage faculty and faculty-student research and creative opportunities because it provides avenues to share ideas, and activate students' research interests.
 
EXCELLENCE IN PERFORMANCE
We strongly encourage members of our University community to achieve high levels of excellence in every endeavor and to make important and innovative contributions to the University and the community. 
  
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
We are building strong external relations with national and international institutions to broaden the experiences of our faculty, staff, and students. We are also creating strategic partnerships with businesses and other organizations to provide opportunities for internships and externships to our students.
